Cairo, September 27- Zamalek SC emerged as the champions of the African Super Cup after a thrilling penalty shootout against their arch-rivals, Al Ahly, finishing with a score of 4-3 in favor of Zamalek.
The match took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the stands were filled with passionate fans from both clubs. Notable attendees included Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority and President of the African Football Confederation, along with several FIFA representatives.
This victory marks Zamalek’s fifth title in the African Super Cup, and it is their second triumph over Al Ahly in this prestigious tournament as the first one goes back to 1994.
