JOE JONAS AND SOPHIE TURNER
American singer Joe Jonas and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner terminated their four year marriage early September 2023. The couple released a joint statement saying they’d made a mutual decision, hoping their fans would respect theirs and their children’s privacy.
REESE WITHERSPOON AND JIM TOTH
The 12-year marriage between Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon and talent agent Jim Toth came to an end in March after “a great deal of care and consideration.” The ex-couple referred to “irreconcilable differences.” However, they’re planning on co-parenting their 10-year-old son.
CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER JUSTIN TRUDEAU and SOPHIE GREGOIRE TRUDEAU
The couple announced they were separating on Instagram in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. However they assured they “would remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other.”
TAMER HOSNY AND BASSMA BOUSSEL
This one we didn’t see coming. Moroccan singer Bassma Boussel announced the termination of the 12-year marriage between her and Egyptian super star Tamer Hosny. The ex-couple was known for sharing a happy and quiet life together and being blessed with three daughters.
The sudden divorce news shocked many of their fans. On new year’s eve, rumors of the couple’s reconciliation spread upon Hosny posting a picture for the family on Instagram. However, Boussil cited that it was just an old family picture.
YOUSSEF EL SHERIF AND ENGY ALAA
One of the most unexpected divorces among celebrities in Egypt in 2023 was the one of the TV star Youssef Elsherif and Engy Alaa. Nearly after 14 years of marriage, scriptwriter Engy Alaa announced the split on her Instagram account. The heartfelt message read: “We regret to announce our divorce. But for the sake of the many good years we shared, we will continue mutual affection and respect for each other.”
HANNAH EL-ZAHED AND AHMED FAHMY
Beautiful actress Hannah El-Zahed publicly announced the divorce between her and her husband and fellow actor Ahmed Fahmy back in November 2023. However, rumors assumed the couple had been separated for a while before the official divorce.
Neither of the couple, who had been married for four long years, confirmed a specific cause for the split up. They were among the most beloved Egyptian celebrity couples, who celebrated a memorable and legendary wedding back in 2019 . Both actors starred together in various productions such as the TV show El-Wad Sayed El-Shahat, and the movie Mr. Ex.
SHERINE AND HOSSAM HABIB
The couple’s relationship had been through many ups and downs throughout their almost six-year marriage. Egyptian singer Sherine announced the second and “final” breakup with her husband and fellow singer Hossam Habib late December 2023.
The couple who performed a duet song together in 2016 Kol Ma Aghany, got divorced for the first time in 2021 following growing tensions. They eventually got back together, but as things seemed to take a turn for the better to the public, the announcement of the second divorce hit their fans hard.
