Cairo, October 7, 2024 – The Grand Egyptian Museum is set to host the sixth edition of Art Cairo from February 8 to 11, 2025, with a special VIP screening on February 7.
After the unprecedented success of previous editions, the Art Fair is deemed a prominent event on the global art calendar, continuing its role in exploring and providing a platform for established and emerging artists from across the region.
The exhibition aims to attract a wide range of leading art galleries from the Middle East and North African region. This edition will feature distinguished artistic participation from Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait, in addition to the participation of Morocco, Turkey, and Tunisia for the first time.
“In the sixth edition of the fair, we aim to present the rich artistic diversity of the Middle East and North Africa to audiences at the local, regional and international levels, with a focus on strengthening and supporting the art scene in Cairo,” said Mohamed Younes, Founder and Director of Art Cairo. “For that reason, Art Cairo represents a platform for artists and also a channel for communication and exchange of views on artistic ambitions in the region.”
The fifth edition of the fair’s discussion program included the participation of distinguished artists, such as the participation of Palestinian artist Suleiman Mansour in a variety of events. Building on this success, the program in its sixth edition seeks to present a dialogue program that is no less interactive through conversations, discussion sessions, and dialogues with artists, curators, and thought leaders to explore topics across a wide artistic spectrum.
The fair will continue to host a select group of VIPs, having welcomed last year Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, former Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary General of the Arab League, among others. In addition to the opening program, a special program will be organized for VIPs, art collectors and visitors to the art galleries, including tours to discover the rich cultural heritage of Cairo. It will also include a special program allowing art collectors to showcase their exceptional collections during a private dinner.
