The Preppy Comeback

From Ivy League to modern street, this season's runways are taking it back to the 80s

Spring/Summer 2025 sees the polished codes of 1980s prep return to the forefront of men’s fashion, but with a refreshed twist.

Designers revisited the era of cable knits, polo shirts, loafers, and tailored shorts, infusing them with modern layering and playful details.

This season’s preppy look isn’t just about uniformity; it’s about reinterpretation. At Celine, Michael Rider leaned into sharp blazers and retro eyewear, while brands like Gucci and Wales Bonner brought collegiate stripes, silk scarves, and jewelry into the mix.

THE PREPPY COMEBACK

The revival is less Ivy League perfection, more relaxed elegance with personality.

Think lightweight knits draped over shoulders, pastel polos tucked into high-waist trousers, and loafers paired with statement socks.

SS25’s preppy style redefines old-school bourgeois polish into a contemporary, wearable uniform, one that feels as suited to the tennis court as it does to the city street.
