Why the season’s boldest looks start with what’s on top

Statement outerwear dominates FW25, transforming coats from functional essentials into dramatic centerpieces.

Designers leaned into volume, texture and sculptural construction, making the coat the defining element of the silhouette rather than an afterthought.

At Prada, oversized faux fur and sharply structured shoulders created a tension between elegance and raw edge. Rabanne embraced theatrical movement with sweeping trims and fluid shapes that turned every stride into a performance.

Max Mara reimagined its signature sophistication with exaggerated proportions and deep winter neutrals that deliver quiet yet commanding presence.

Meanwhile, Khaite offered a softer architectural take through cocoon coats and enveloping collars that bring intimacy and protection to the runway.

This season the message is clear. The coat leads the outfit and everything else follows.
