Handbags are more than just accessories this Spring/Summer 2025; they’re declarations of comfort, elegance, and sensual pleasure.
Designers in the fashion capitals experimented with form, texture, and nostalgic references, embracing both utility and fantasy.
THE BAGS OF SS25
SS25’s bags, with their lengthy silhouettes, vibrant color pops, and earthy woven textures, capture the spirit of the season’s contrasts: classic vs bold, soft versus structured.
Our editors bring you a comprehensive guide to the most important bag trends of the season:
LONG BAGS
The runways were dominated by lengthy, East-West silhouettes, which provided a stylish substitute for traditional shoulder bags. Seen at Gucci, Prada, and Alaïa, these long, tuck-under versions radiate classic sophistication with a contemporary twist.

SOFT SUEDE
Suede, which is tactile and earthy, made a big reappearance. It was frequently used in subdued colors like rust, olive, and ochre. It gave both structured and casual silhouettes a nostalgic softness when it was seen at Chloé and Ferragamo.

SLOUCHY CLUTCHES
Soft leather and supple shapes made a comeback for the enormous, slouchy clutch, which was relaxed yet elegant. Consider The Row, Loewe, and Bottega Veneta, where comfort and minimalism coexist.

This season, bags were dominated by vibrant colors, with citrus yellow, cobalt, cherry red, and acid green leading the way. At Versace, Fendi, and Ferragamo, these vibrant colors energized traditional silhouettes.

THE TOP HANDLE
Top-handle bags, a classic essential reinvented, returned with style in collections ranging from Hermès to Miu Miu. Architectural trapeze forms and little vanity cases were among the silhouettes.

Straw, crochet, and raffia bags were the main examples of woven textures. Seasonally appropriate, beachy, and natural, the handcrafted vibe was embraced by runways such as Chanel, JW Anderson, and Jacquemus.
