With the world’s fashion capital serving as the backdrop, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games offer the ideal setting for a stunning fashion moment. The competition honors Paris’s elegance and craftsmanship in addition to its inherent athleticism.

Dior’s haute couture was donned by Céline Dion and Lady Gaga, who embodied this special fusion of fashion and athletics. Their breathtaking looks honored the allure of Parisian fashion in addition to showcasing their amazing talents.

With designs by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior demonstrated once more why she is the ideal choice for honoring the magnificence and charm of the City of Light.

CÉLINE DION

Céline Dion’s appearances are always unforgettable, and her grand comeback at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was no exception. For this special occasion, she chose a Dior haute couture outfit specifically designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri to enhance her performance of Edith Piaf’s Hymne à l’Amour.

Performing from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, adorned with the Olympic rings and symbolizing the magic of Paris, Céline wore a white silk georgette gown. This gown, embroidered with a mesmerizing array of sequins and adorned with over 500 meters of fringing studded with thousands of silver beads, seemed to come alive, vibrating and scintillating in harmony with her enchanting performance.

This exceptional made-to-measure gown required over a thousand hours of meticulous work, showcasing the extraordinary embroidery craftsmanship of the House of Dior.

For the grand finale, Céline was accompanied by composer and conductor Scott Price, who wore a black Oblique tuxedo by Kim Jones for Dior.

LADY GAGA

Lady Gaga inaugurated the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a flamboyant performance celebrating French cabaret. At the Square Barye on Ile Saint Louis, she performed Mon Truc en Plumes by Zizi Jeanmaire, a 1961 hit conceived by choreographer Roland Petit.

Maria Grazia Chiuri of Dior designed Gaga’s outfit, featuring a black satin bustier and panties by Cadolle, paired with a short jacket and a majestic feathered skirt in black and pink. Her look was completed with a matching headdress by Stephen Jones.

As Gaga performed, she gradually removed her garments to reveal a Cul de Paris, an emblematic accessory of music-hall art.

Seventeen musicians and ten dancers, dressed in Dior outfits inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina (1954) and adorned with pompoms by the Lido de Paris, accompanied her.

This performance was a tribute to the dialogue between the arts and haute couture that Dior has been known for since its founding in Paris in 1946.
