As we approach Ramadan 2025, several major stars, who have consistently been a part of the Ramadan drama marathon, will be notably absent. This year’s Ramadan will see a mix of familiar faces stepping aside for various reasons. Here’s a look at some of the biggest names who will not be part of the anticipated shows:
- Yousra
The beloved Egyptian actress Yousra will not be participating in Ramadan 2025, marking her second consecutive year of absence. She last graced the Ramadan screen in 2023 with the hit series “1000 Hamdillah ‘Ala Salama” (1000 Thanks for Safety). The series, which garnered attention for its unique storyline, saw Yousra star alongside Shaima Seif, Mohamed Tharwat, Mayan El Said, Adam El-Sharkawy, Sama Ibrahim, Ahmed Abdel Wahab, and Mostafa Enba. The series was written by Mohamed Zulfikar and directed by Amr Salah.
- Mohamed Ramadan
After a successful 2023 Ramadan with “Jaafar El-Omda”, Mohamed Ramadan will also be missing from Ramadan 2025 for the second year in a row. Ramadan had promised to return with a new series this year, but he is not appearing in the season. His 2023 drama “Jaafar El-Omda”, directed by Mohamed Sami, was a massive hit, starring Zeina, Eman El-Assi, Hala Sedki, Mai Kassab, Ahmed Dash, and many others.

- Amir Karara
Known for his consistent appearances, Amir Karara will also be absent from Ramadan 2025. His last series, “Bayt El-Rifai” in Ramadan 2024, saw him share the screen with actors such as Ahmed Rizk, Sayed Raga, Inas Kamel, and many more. The series was written by Peter Mimi, Hend Abdullah, and Amr Abu Zeid, and directed by Ahmed Nader Galal.
- Karim Abdel Aziz
Karim Abdel Aziz, who captivated audiences with “Al-Hashashin” in Ramadan 2024, will also not be appearing in 2025. His last show was widely acclaimed for its gripping storyline. The series featured stars like Fathi Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Eid, and Nicola Mouawad. The show was written by Abdel Rahim Kamal and directed by Peter Mimi.
- Mohamed Emam
Although fans had high hopes for Mohamed Emam‘s “Al-King”, the actor will be absent from Ramadan 2025. Due to the large scale of the production, the show’s creator Mohamed Salah El-Azb announced that the series would be postponed to 2026. The project’s scale, involving several international locations, made it difficult to complete on time.
- Ahmed Ezz
For the third year in a row, Ahmed Ezz will not be part of Ramadan 2025. He last participated in the hit series “El-Ikhtiyar 3” during Ramadan 2023, alongside stars like Ahmed El-Sakka, Yasser Galal, and Karim Abdel Aziz. This year, however, Ezz’s fans will have to wait another season for his return to Ramadan drama. - Yehia El-Fakharany
Despite having plans to return with “El-Ostaz”, Yehia El-Fakharany will not be part of Ramadan 2025. The series, which was announced by producer Gamal El-Adl, faced delays in production and marketing. El-Fakharany’s last appearance was in “Atabat El-Bahga” in 2024, which featured stars such as Salah Abdullah, Jumana Mourad, and Safa El-Toukhy.
- Mona Zaki
Mona Zaki’s absence from Ramadan 2025 marks the second consecutive year that she will not be part of the Ramadan drama lineup. After a stunning career of consistently appearing in iconic Ramadan series, fans will miss seeing her on screen this year.

- Youssef ElSherif
Joining the list of stars missing in action is Youssef ElSherif, who has been absent from Ramadan seasons for the past four years. His long hiatus has left fans longing for his distinctive presence on screen, as he has become synonymous with thrilling, genre-defying roles that always deliver excitement.
