Milan Fashion Week began with a striking fusion of avant-garde imagination and classic refinement. As designers showcased collections that ranged from avant-garde forms to exquisite tailoring, all while pushing the boundaries of traditional Italian craftsmanship, the opening shows set the tone for an intriguing season

The world’s fashion stage is ready for an extraordinary season of exceptional talent and novel viewpoints as Milan’s most anticipated week progresses.

 ALBERTA FERRETTI

Alberta Ferretti’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection draws inspiration from the delicate balance between ethereal femininity and modern practicality.

With flowing chiffon, lace overlays, and transparent organza, the collection evokes a sense of lightness, while incorporating functional elements like cotton ensembles and structured silhouettes.

The designs reflect a contrast between dreamy, bohemian aesthetics and everyday wearability, blending elegance with contemporary versatility.

BLUMARINE

Blumarine’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection took inspiration from water, translating its fluidity and reflective nature into a carefree, early 2000s aesthetic.

The designs featured liquid-like floral motifs on slip dresses, 3D beaded fringes reminiscent of water droplets, and shimmering sequins that evoked wave-like movements.

Lightweight, glossy fabrics and crinkled textures reinforced the aquatic theme, while the brand’s signature leopard print was softened into a sun-bleached effect. Complemented by poplin sets, pleated dresses, and fringed accessories, the collection embodied a breezy, festival-ready style.

FENDI

During Milan Fashion Week, Fendi showcased their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which drew inspiration from the Art Deco style and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.

Focusing on movement, lightness, and excellence, Kim Jones, the artistic director of Fendi, combined traditional designs with contemporary elements, such as flowing skirts and lowered waists.

The collection evoked the glitz of the Roaring Twenties with its elaborate beadwork, transparent materials like organza, and neutral color scheme of cream, black, and soft grays.

In addition, this collection honored Fendi’s 100-year history by showcasing a classic, subtle elegance and paying homage to its tradition.

FIORUCCI

Francesca Murri’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection for Fiorucci was inspired by dreams, creating a soft, ethereal atmosphere through pastel colors and lingerie-inspired designs.

The collection featured nightgown-like pieces, with standout elements including loose denim separates, flowing trench coats, and Tyvek garments adorned with macramé and angel motifs.

Staying true to Fiorucci’s playful spirit, the collection balanced elegance and wearability, offering a fresh, delicate take on the brand’s heritage of bold creativity.

ICEBERG

For Iceberg’s 50th anniversary, creative director James Long took inspiration from iconic moments in fashion history, using the milestone to push the brand forward with a fresh, vibrant energy.

His Spring/Summer 2025 collection blended bold colors and oversized silhouettes with technical fabrics, reflecting Iceberg’s sportswear roots and a contemporary urban edge.

Moving beyond the streetwear influences that had shaped his previous work, Long introduced playful yet mature pieces like undies with pop socks, colorful cardigans, and reversible mac coats.

This collection honored the brand’s legacy while confidently exploring new, innovative directions for the future.

MARNI

Presenting at Milan Fashion Week, Marni’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection is a whimsical blend of contemporary daring and classic beauty. The design director, Francesco Risso, used a demi-couture look that emphasizes fitted forms, vivid hues, and minute details.

The collection employs inventive architecture to breathe new life into classic elegance while playing with contrasts and fusing magical elements with everyday clothing.

This dramatic exhibition of bold, fitted items that resonated with both contemporary and classical elements was achieved by combining sophisticated and whimsical styling.
