Louis Vuitton announced the inauguration of a new store and café in conjunction with chef Cyril Lignac at London Heathrow’s Terminal 2.
The tiny café, which is centrally placed to handle domestic and international departures, adjoins a new Louis Vuitton store distinguished by its remarkable, aerodynamic façade built in cooperation with Marc Fornes who founded THEVERYMANY, a New York-based art and architecture studio, and collaborated with Louis Vuitton on an outstanding pavilion display for the 2023 Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.
The external design delves into technology and future designs, which are both contextual and emblematic of the Maison’s enduring desire for travel.
Since 2020, Louis Vuitton has expanded its expression of savoir-faire and lifestyle by opening over 20 restaurants, cafés, chocolate shops, and airport lounges that complement destinations and stores worldwide.
Whether it’s Le Café V in Ginza, the seasonal restaurant in St. Tropez, or the airport lounge at Doha International Airport, everything is specifically designed to evoke the Louis Vuitton experience. This latest culinary idea is the first to be introduced in the United Kingdom.
Entering this open, futuristic-style pavilion, visitors will find items largely from the women’s universe, as well as a collection of men’s accessories and leather products. The café integrates smoothly into the store, offering both counter service and table dining.
While the curved, second-skin interior creates a sense of tranquility, the café will seem both playful and refined, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment despite the airport’s constant flow. The dazzling atmosphere is enhanced with orange and gold tones throughout the decor creating a warm, lively feel.
Overhead, a series of Quetzal Mobiles by atelier oï, part of the Objets Nomades line, vividly depicts birds in flight. Louis Vuitton’s Art de la Table includes leather table mats, a gold-bordered table service, and colorful Twist glasses.
Le Café Cyril Lignac is also Louis Vuitton’s first cooperation with the renowned Parisian chef, who adds a casual refinement to both traditional French and international food. Chef Cyril Lignac is well-known for his fusion restaurants, patisseries, and chocolate boutiques in Paris, Saint-Tropez, and London.
Cyril Lignac has created a special all-day meal and beverage menu to satisfy tourists from dawn to evening, including healthy, traditional, and gourmet alternatives.
Naturally, Royal Eggs will be served first, followed by croissants, fruit plates, and avocado toast. In addition to Lignac’s renowned crab salad, upgraded appetizers and hot dishes include a Croque Monsieur, lobster roll, beetroot salad with goat cheese, and Caesar salad. For a sweet finish, creative Louis Vuitton patisseries and a mango Eton Mess will satisfy before a flight.
From this world-class gateway, Louis Vuitton and Cyril Lignac collaborate to create a unique experience in savoir-faire and craft, a true destination within London’s Heathrow Airport.
