On the evening of November 13, 2024, Tunis’s Medina was transformed into a lively tableau of Tunisian fashion, combining the classic beauty of the Orient with a modern edge. The event, named Just One More Night, was a masterpiece orchestrated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as part of the Creative Tunisia initiative.
The event, held in the wonderfully renovated Sainte-Croix Church, a cultural treasure brought back to life by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, celebrated Medina’s rich historical character while embracing the avant-garde spirit of modern fashion.
More than a runway show, Just One More Night was an immersive tribute to the mythical world of Mille et une nuits (A Thousand and One Nights), brought to life by ten Tunisian designers: Amin Hajri, Anissa Aida, Koufia, Calestis, Salah Barka, Gypset, Vintage Diet, Houriettes, Livarbi, and Boudoir de Chou. Their collections exuded refinement, reimagining old stories through a perspective of creativity and artistry.
This spectacular showcase was part of the Creative Tunisia project, which was supported by the European Union’s Tounes Wijhetouna program. Since 2019, Creative Tunisia has been working to elevate Tunisian workmanship, particularly in the fashion industry.
The initiative, managed by UNIDO in conjunction with the National Handicrafts Office, aims to enhance artisanal value chains and boost the Tunis Fashion Cluster by encouraging collaborations between designers, public organizations, and private stakeholders.
Just One More Night reflected the project’s goal: to foster a harmonic interaction between Tunisia’s cultural legacy and its emerging modern identity. From complex designs to spectacular artistic projections, each aspect exemplified a perfect blend of heritage and innovation.
The event gathered a prestigious crowd, including worldwide fashion authority Badara Ndiaye and renowned international journalist Samira Ibrahim, as well as a slew of Tunisian influencers and media figures.
Just One More Night was more than just a fashion show; it was a cultural statement, a sensory experience that honored the Medina’s historical past while boldly embracing a vision of Tunisian artistry that is poised to enchant the world stage.
