There’s no character here. No scene. No script. Just a frame, some light, and Yasmina El Abd: Unfiltered, unguarded, and unmistakably herself.

In this exclusive editorial, Calvin Klein invites us to look beyond the lens of performance and public perception.

Stripped of pretense, the campaign leans into the brand’s iconic minimalism, clean lines, muted palettes, and the geometry of shadow and silence, instead turning the spotlight inward onto the essence of presence itself.

This isn’t about storytelling. It’s about being.

Yasmina El Abd, 19, has already established herself as one of Egypt’s most promising acting talents, noted for roles that emphasize subtlety, emotional nuance, and quiet fortitude. But The Aura of Yasmina isn’t concerned about who she plays. It wants to know…who is she when there is nothing to perform?

“It feels almost disarming,” Yasmina admits of the experience of being captured not as a role, but as herself. “I’ve been working in this industry for almost half my life, which is so crazy. Being vulnerable as just myself is something I find quite challenging.”

She’s spent years mastering the art of stepping into someone else’s shoes: Zeina, Princess Safiya, Shaimaa, Fay, each character layered with cultural identity and conviction. Here, she stands without armor, letting her natural gravity take center stage.

It’s an editorial that exemplifies Calvin Klein’s long-standing design philosophy: pure simplicity as a source of power. “I don’t think you need to be loud to be heard,” Yasmina explains. “There’s a quiet power in showing up calmly and then shifting the energy in the room simply by being present.”

That confidence is not fake; it is earned, lived, and carried lightly. She allows people to misjudge her before surprising them with grace that defies her age.

There’s a wordless maturity in Yasmina’s demeanor, one shaped by the roles she’s inhabited, but not defined by them. “I’ve trained myself to let go of the characters I’ve played,” she reflects. “But I’ve learned from them. I’ve been able to play resilient characters, and I relate to that.”

Resilience isn’t a theme for her, it’s a way of life. “To survive an industry as crazy as this one, grit and resilience are imperative.”

However, for all of that underlying steel, there’s also softness, a playful, light-hearted core that rarely makes it past the red carpet or polished interviews. “At home, I’m usually just a goof,” she jokes. “Always teasing my siblings, even if they’re thousands of miles away.” Calvin Klein’s lens captures this contradiction so well: seriousness and mischief, gravity and elegance—a young woman who embodies her presence rather than performing it.

Stillness, she says, comes from boundaries and balance. “Being and staying sane while working in entertainment is only achievable if you have a strong support system,” she insists.

Her strength, no question, is deeply rooted: “My mom for sure. There is no woman as strong and resilient as she is. She’s my number one supporter, my momager, therapist, stylist…everything.”

In a world addicted to noise and reinvention, Yasmina is learning the art of self-preservation. “It’s so important to know your limits, not just as an artist, but as a human being,” she says.

Authenticity, for her, isn’t a buzzword. It’s a practice. “When it rains, it pours. But authenticity means being able to walk away from something that doesn’t align with your morals without guilt.”

So what remains when there’s nothing left to perform?

“Someone who’s learning not to take herself too seriously,” she smiles. “What you see is what you get.” And if her presence could speak without words? “Be kinder,” she says. “Educate yourselves on the things that matter. We all have a responsibility to better ourselves.” Then, with her signature humor: “But honestly? My presence would also say, ‘I need a nap.’”

In this moment, captured in Calvin Klein’s architectural stillness, we see Yasmina not as a rising star but as a full force of being. No embellishment. No pretense. Just her. Just now.

Just Yasmina.
