Gouna Film Festival Announces Dates for Its Eighth Edition

This announcement follows the success of the festival’s seventh edition

Cairo, Egypt – January 21, 2025. The Gouna Film Festival (GFF) has officially announced that its eighth edition will take place in the scenic coastal city of El Gouna from October 16 to 24, 2025. This announcement follows the success of the festival’s seventh edition, which featured over 80 films from 40 countries competing for awards exceeding $230,000, along with an impressive 21 projects in development and post-production, which received awards worth $400,000 through the festival’s CineGouna initiative aimed at supporting film production.

The seventh edition of the festival also included 20 panel discussions, nine specialized lectures, and several workshops, all part of the CineGouna Platform. The festival’s Plaza was transformed into a vibrant center for all things related to the film industry, showcasing the CineGouna Market with more than 20 exhibitors.

Looking ahead to the eighth edition, the Gouna Film Festival promises to continue building on the legacy established in previous years, aiming to deliver an even richer experience for filmmakers and film lovers alike. The festival is committed to further enhancing the film industry in Egypt and the wider Arab region, while strengthening connections with the global cinema community.
