This season, prints dominated the Fall/Winter 2024 runways, expressing stories of nostalgia, escape, and bold individuality.
Designers such as Dries Van Noten and Erdem showcased blossoms in dark tones and painting approaches, evoking a romantic melancholy. Meanwhile, Stella McCartney and Gucci showcased plaids and tartans that appreciated their heritage traditions while using colorful, modern tones.
Linear patterns dominated, from basic pinstripes to bold graphic lines emphasizing structure and movement. Brands like Givenchy and Prada showed similar designs, which added a clean, architectural elegance to everything from tailored coats to standout gowns.
For a futuristic look, Loewe and Marine Serre combined digital surrealism with pixelated and glitch-inspired patterns. In contrast, Hermès used earthy designs inspired by nature’s organic forms in muted tones.
Animal designs were reintroduced with a whimsical twist, while classic geometrics and psychedelic motifs lent fun refinement to many pieces.
