At the 78th Cannes International Film Festival, Chopard unveils its latest Red Carpet Collection: Caroline’s Universe, a dazzling showcase of 78 Haute Joaillerie creations imagined by Artistic Director and Co-President Caroline Scheufele.
Each piece is an intimate reflection of Scheufele’s inspirations, from nature and animals to couture, precious stones, and the stars — all shaped by the hands of over 40 master artisans at the Maison’s Geneva ateliers.
CANNES’ STEPS OF LEGACY
Chopard’s romance with the Festival dates back to 1998, when it became an official partner and guardian of the Palme d’Or.
In 2007, marking the Festival’s 60th anniversary, Scheufele introduced the first Red Carpet Collection, matching the number of creations to each year of the Festival’s existence, a tradition that continues today. “This collection was born from a love of cinema and a desire to let actresses shine on the red carpet,” she says.
INNER COSMOS OF CREATIVITY
After previous themes like Cinema, Arts, and Fairy Tales, the 2025 edition takes a more introspective turn. Caroline’s Universe delves into the designer’s personal world, much like a multifaceted diamond, exploring the emotional core that fuels Chopard’s most imaginative pieces.
NATURE, ANIMALS, AND THE POETRY OF LIFE
Caroline Scheufele’s lifelong connection with animals finds new expression in the form of bejeweled tributes.
Her beloved spaniel Byron, a familiar figure at Cannes, inspires a lifelike ring crafted in white, black, and cognac diamonds. A hippo-shaped ring follows suit, a whimsical homage with grey diamonds and garnets capturing its charming silhouette.
From her lakeside garden near Geneva bloom floral masterpieces: a rose brooch in ethical rose gold and rubies, and ethereal earrings of white opal and coloured sapphires, sculpted in tinted titanium.
COUTURE MEETS CRAFTSMANSHIP
Scheufele’s passion for fashion continues to influence Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie. Since launching the Precious Lace collection in 2015, Chopard has blurred the lines between couture and jewellery.
The year 2023 marked the debut of Caroline’s Couture, now complemented by 78 new creations, from a diamond-laced timepiece topped with a portrait-cut lozenge diamond to a regal choker adorned with pink-purple tourmaline, pink sapphires, and amethysts.
ALLURE OF RARE GEMSTONES
Scheufele’s childhood memories of playing with her mother’s jewellery have translated into a refined gem-hunting instinct. The 2025 collection highlights exceptional stones, including a breathtaking 129-carat cabochon emerald set into a diamond lace choker, a nod to legendary Chopard gem finds like the Insofu emerald and the Garden of Kalahari diamonds.
COSMIC IMAGERY & CELESTIAL DREAMS
The heavens have long guided Caroline’s creativity. This year’s cosmic offerings include a black diamond panther perched on a crescent moon, and a snake necklace of diamonds and emeralds, a talismanic nod to the current Chinese zodiac year.
THE HEART OF CHOPARD
At the core of the Maison lies its most emblematic symbol: the heart. “If I were to associate Chopard with one motif, it would be the heart, because there is a family behind it,” Scheufele shares.
In 2025, the heart returns in bold new forms, like a ruby-set ring crafted in tinted aluminium, and a set of necklace and earrings in briolette-cut pink sapphires and diamonds.
SUSTAINABLE GLAMOUR
Chopard remains a trailblazer in sustainable luxury. In 2013, the brand began incorporating ethical gold into its collections, launching its Journey to Sustainable Luxury.
A decade later, Scheufele’s Cannes runway presentation of Caroline’s Couture signaled the fusion of sustainable design, high fashion, and artistic jewellery, all embodied in this year’s visionary Red Carpet Collection.
