Amid a frantic wedding season, acclaimed celebrity stylist Yasmine Kenawi devised a unique approach to celebrate with her bridesmaids while keeping her busy schedule.
“I wasn’t able to set up a bachelorette over the summer due to my super busy work schedule,” Kenawi tells ELLE. “I decided to do something before the wedding with my bridesmaids to celebrate my wedding process, my marriage, and just have a day all about love, celebration, and happy moments.”
What was the result? An enchanting bridesmaid luncheon was held in her own garden, which she described as “very intimate but set to turn into a lively situation.”
A BUTTERFLY IN FULL BLOOM
Kenawi’s selected theme is equally personal and meaningful. Butterflies, which represent metamorphosis and new beginnings, became the centerpiece of her celebration. “I’ve always been known as a butterfly in my friend group,” she tells me. “I even got a butterfly tattoo because I believe I am approaching a metamorphosis period. It’s all about a new chapter, a fresh start.”
To bring the theme to life, Kenawi collaborated with Sohayla Helal of Curated by Keep to create the decor and table settings. “Sohayla helped me come up with the theme and has been amazing in making it all happen,” she shares.
From whimsical decor touches to a colorful environment that evokes summer even in the dead of winter, the event exudes enthusiasm and femininity.
Guests were encouraged to participate in the theme by following a dress code that included butterfly themes. “I’m so excited to see what everyone comes up with!” Kenawi gushes.
PERSONAL TOUCHES & THOUGHTFUL GESTURES
Kenawi’s brunch emphasizes fashion and beauty. Charlotte Tilbury Arabia is sponsoring her wedding, and each bridesmaid received a tailored gift pouch with beauty goods and personalized trinkets. “I wanted each gift to feel thoughtful and reflective of my relationship with my girls,” she reveals.
The food was also a work of art, created in partnership with her closest friend’s catering firm, Pinch. “We added a lot of butterfly elements to the food—it’s light, fun, and easy for people to enjoy,” according to Kenawi.
A FASHION-FORWARD CELEBRATION
Yasmine Kenawi’s attire embodied the topic flawlessly, as expected of a stylist. She wore a bespoke short white halter dress with butterfly designs designed by the sought-after designer Maram. “It’s perfect for the moment,” she says.
She completed the appearance with a draped white fur coat and butterfly decorations, which combined the theme’s playfulness with winter elegance.
Kenawi views this brunch as an opportunity to set the tone for her future wedding celebrations. “All I want is to feel the love in the air and remember these precious moments with my family and friends.” Having so much female energy around me is what I enjoy the most.”
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES
For brides hoping to recreate a similar event, her advice is straightforward: “Make it intimate, memorable, and full of laughter and love.”
“As a bride, you become worried about the entire wedding process. This is an opportunity to unwind, forget about the stress, and simply spend time with your friends.”
Yasmine Kenawi’s brunch is a sincere celebration of transformation, love, and friendship, as well as a reflection of her bridal style.
