7 Shows to Catch Up on After Ramadan

A guide to some of this Ramadan’s hits that you might have missed out on

shows ramadan

This Ramadan, we made too many promises – to pray taraweeh at the mosque daily, to have suhoor out with your friends, to not sabotage our diet, and to watch the entire series list we made at the beginning of Ramadan. Although we may not have stuck to some of our promises – if not all of them – we can still make up for some. Here are the shows that you may have missed this Ramadan and must catch up on after.

And if you didn’t miss them, well, then you can go check what’s new on Netflix. Sorry…

ALBY W MOFTAHO

Are you into love triangles? Yes? Then this one is definitely for you. Alby W Moftaho is a blend of cute romance, drama, and nostalgia in between. And if Asser Yassin had been your dream guy one day – as he was for most of us – then this series is guaranteed to grow on you.

EKHWATY

A series starring Nelly Karim, Kinda Alloush, Gihan El Shamashergy, and Rouby – do we need to say anything else? Plus, we have Ahmed Hatem as a guest star.

WELAD EL SHAMS

**SPOILER ALERT** If you’re currently going through a depressive episode in life, don’t watch this series. As beautifully written and acted as this show is, it’s gonna break your heart all the way. Please, don’t get too attached to Moftah (Taha Desouky).

80 BAKO

If you were a fan of Nadine Njeim’s hit-series Salon Zahra, then welcome to the local version of it with Boussy (Huda El Mufti). Enjoy.

KAMEL EL ADDAD++

This is officially the best long-running TV show after A’elat Wanis. For those who fall for family drama and complexities – but within a light and warm scale – Kamel El Addad++ will definitely fill the gap.

LAM SHAMSEYA

Just like Welad El Shams, this show is not for unhappy people, because it will only make things worse for them. You can happily watch Aysha El Dor here.

ESH ESH

Apparently, everyone out there has been ashamed to say in public that they’re watching Esh Esh. But we’re here to break that fear and say it. If you’ve always been a fan of Mohamed Sami’s drama, you’ll undoubtedly love Esh Esh. Aside from the unexplained and unnecessary background music that plays in almost every scene and Mai Omar’s 5 to 10-minute monologue every single episode, this series has undeniably achieved breakout success. NB: this series will be a perfect match for you if you’re into silver foxes– aka sugar daddies, because Maged El Masri as Ragab El Gretly in this show is the biggest hear me out.

Have you watched any of these? And if not, what has gotten most of your attention?
