A wednesday has passed and The Summer I Turned Pretty was not there, it ended. But that doesn’t mean your binge-watching lineup has to lose its butterflies. Luckily, the small screen is brimming with shows that deliver the same slow-burn yearning, swoony romances, and just enough drama to keep you up past midnight energy. Consider this your next fix for that TSITP-shaped void.
1.The Buccaneers (2023)

Set in the 1870s Gilded Age, The Buccaneers follows five American girls Nan and Jinny St. George, Conchita Closson, Lizzy and Mabel Elmsworth as they cross oceans to join the debutante season in London. The goal is simple: secure titled husbands, adopt proper British manners, and navigate high society’s stiff rules. But as all period pieces go tradition goes against their spirited independence, family secrets unravel, love triangles tangle, and loyalties get tested.
This show is essentially a mix of Bridgerton + TSITP + The Gilded Age = a scandalous period piece that has multiple messy love triangles.
2.Forever (2025)

It follows two Black teens in 2018 Los Angeles who fall in love amid the pressures of firsts, identity, expectations, and family. Its a mix of youthful intimacy and emotional stakes with social realism, and it was renewed for a second season mere days after its Netflix debut.
3.Too Much (2025)

Created by Lena Dunham, Too Much is a transatlantic rom com about a New York workaholic who, after a breakup, moves to London and begins an unexpected romance. Over its 10 episodes, it leans into messiness, miscommunication, sweet, awkward, and very human about how we fall for people in odd ways.
4.My Lady Jane (2024)

The series reimagines the rise and fall of Lady Jane Grey with magic, political intrigue, and snark. In this version, Jane is forced into a royal marriage and briefly becomes queen but in a world where some humans can shape shift to animals, and the stakes are higher than mere dynasty.
5.Nobody Wants This (2024)

A light, warm romantic dramedy pairs an outspoken agnostic relationship advice podcaster, with an unconventional rabbi introduced to her by a friend. They go through a romantic journey that defies expectations, where faith, identity, family, and podcast dramas complicate every step. What’s better is that Season 2 is set to be released on 23 October 2025.
