5 Dating Tips to Make Your New Girl Swoon

A comprehensive guide for the gentlemen in the early stages of dating

Gather up, boys! We know how tricky it can be to get a girl to like you. ELLE gives you insider tips (from the women themselves) on how to make them swoon.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS

There is nothing girls love more than feeling like they’re being listened to. Showing your partner you care by picking up the little cues and small details she gives you is key to making her feel special.

“The thing that made me like my fiancee most at the beginning was that he would bring up topics I mentioned before, having looked them up or read more about them” Israa, 27, tells ELLE.

TRY NEW THINGS TOGETHER

Often girls are the ones who plan the outings and dates, but they also love it when the guy takes initiative! Remember a restaurant or cafe she mentioned she wanted to try and surprise her with a date. Or better yet, take her on an unconventional date.

TAKE THE LEAD

Show your girl you’re invested in the relationship by taking initiative. Go the extra mile. Girls love a guy who knows what he wants and goes after it.

“I want someone to put me in my feminine energy,” Menna, 23, tells us “I don’t want to have to worry about anything when I’m with him.”

GIVE HER COMPLIMENTS

Make your girl feel special. If she gets a new haircut or a new accessory, make sure to mention it. Paying attention to the little details and showing appreciation for them can go a long way in making your partner feel special and loved.

“I’m not one for compliments in general, but I can’t deny when my boyfriend picks up on something new it feels quite cute.” Karma, 23, shares.

BE SPONTANEOUS

And lastly, don’t take it too seriously. It’s cute when a guy is spontaneous. It can add a delightful spark to your relationship and let your partner know that you cherish their company. Pick her up after work, and take her for a simple drive with music. Sometimes, it’s just nice to know you want to be with her.
